What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy refers to a range of traditional, alternative or complementary therapies that uses essential oils and aromatic plant compounds to solve problems and disorders for both physical and psychological levels. Many times when it comes to aromatherapy, people think exclusively about the olfactory uses of essential oils, but in fact; This therapy also includes other applications like topical use (massages, wraps, pure applications), inhalation and oral. In fact, in aromatherapy essential oils can be used in various ways:

  • Skin application (ie contact with the skin diluting it with a carrier oil): baths and pedicures, massages, masks, sludges, creams and lotions, wraps.
  • Inhalative application: through inhalation or diffusion with ultrasound.
  • Oral application.
